Profile

Founder story

RRLabs started from a recurring, avoidable frustration: subscription businesses were losing revenue from customers who never intended to leave. Cards expired, funds were short for a day, issuers declined a renewal — and the billing system treated all of it as churn. The tooling that existed sent the same generic reminder on the same fixed schedule, regardless of why the payment failed.

The founding insight was that recovery is a decision problem, not a scheduling problem. Knowing why a payment failed changes when to retry, which channel to use, and what the message should say. RRLabs was built around that idea and hardened into a multi-tenant platform with encrypted per-tenant credentials, row-level isolation, and a recovery path that never stops — even when an AI provider does.
